The EMR program is a 56+ hour course designed by the Red Cross to achieve certification as an Emergency Medical Responder (EMR). The EMR course serves as an introduction to prehospital EMS, covering topics including cardiac and respiratory emergencies, diabetic emergencies, allergic reactions, traumatic injuries and more. Additionally, EMR students will be trained on proper lifting and moving techniques, basic communication and documentation, and an introduction to disaster management. Certification is good for 2 years upon completion.
